Camping along the dirt road that leads from Adel, OR to Cedarville, CA

We just pulled into camp along the dirt road that leads from Adel, OR to Cedarville, CA.  I’ve been meaning to try this road for years, looks like it could be a rough one on the map, going over a mountain pass.  The slow-talking fellow at the roadhouse in Adel said it’s a good graded road all the way though.  We’ll find out tomorrow.  For now it’s gathering fire wood and settling in for the night, probably going to get below freezing again tonight.

Mini Vincent

Protect Resources, Catch Air, Enjoy.  I never knew the BLM was so HIP!

Overlook on Hwy 140 in the remote stretches of S.E. Oregon, just North of Nevada.  The pictures hardly do this valley justice, it’s immense, and the road skates down a cliffside from the rim to the floor.

Mary’s workin on trying to get perspective on living in such a tiny VW bus.

Thanks for the gift of a mini vincent, Heady John!  BUT all others be warned!  Don’t give us VW tat!  We have no room for such.  A bottle of wine, yes.  VW tat; no.

A few of our favorite hot springs

Mary and I decided to have our selves a second honeymoon for 2 weeks traveling from Norris Hotspring, my last Montana gig, to Nevada City, CA where we’re at right now.  We charted a course through the most remote and sparsely populated part of the lower 48 states.  We stopped at a few of my favorite hotsprings along the way.  Including Whitehorse Ranch Hotspring in the desert uplands of S.E. Oregon.  It’s 25 miles of dirt road to get here, and 25 more to connect to the highway to Denio, NV (the most remote town in the lower 48 states).  If you look carefully on the cement wall separating the pools you’ll see “HOT and COLD” as if you wouldn’t be able to tell.  Mary was looking great in her new summer dress.  We stayed for a couple nights.
